Criticism On “Perry and Romney’s First Face”
February 22, 2012 10:33 am BusinessAnother excruciating Peggy Noonan advice column with the usual blah lead-in and recap of last week’s news, followed by paragraphs that make the reader ache for her to start making a point. My question: whom does she know or is related to who owns the paper? – because there is no other way her writing would pass community college journalism 101. Here’s my latest Peggy Noonan jokes: any column she writes is a secret ballot because you cannot tell what it says. She could write top secret military messages in plain language and the enemy would be unable to decipher it. She could write a soldier a ‘dear John’ letter and he wouldn’t realize it. Don’t ask her to write the result after Election Day; nobody will know who won. I don’t know or care what she wrote about Perry and Romney; I lost it in her verbal embroidery. Peggy is the Queen of Ambivalence and her columns make the magazines in waiting rooms look fresh. Her idea of a scoop is a day-old paper. She’s not even a cub reporter; she’s embryonic. I guess that’s enough for one night. I had fun.
